Description

The project was called "Drip Trees"...basically, you gesso a posterboard (I suppose it'd work on canvas too?), then paint over it. I love texture, so mine ended up really thick (it matters later- bear with me!). Then you choose an area near the top (you have to decide if you want it portrait or landscape first, and if you want it portrait, then you're gonna need a LOT more paint!) and sponge/splatter on a thick layer of whatever colours of fairly runny acrylic paint you want...and if they run together, you're screwed. BEFORE THE PAINT DRIES, spritz it with enough water to make streams of paint run to the bottom (this is where the texture matters- I ended up having little channels diverting the paint xP). When that dries, do some negative painting around the drips...et voila!

...sorry for the rambling tutorial-esque description. Anyway, I really like this one, and it got a second-place ribbon in our art show!

Questions? Comments? Snide remarks? Go ahead, I'm game.

(Oh yeah, and I apologise for the crappy iPhone pic...)
